I have ADD and I wish I didn't. I want to play games for hours at a time but it is rather hard for me because I always have the feeling like I need to be doing something else. Sometimes I manage to get 2-3 hours in but that only happens once in a while. Now that there will be so many games coming this November I plan on taking three days off of work and play lights out. Anyways I am geting off topic, my question is does anybody else have this problem and if so how do you cope. P.S. I have been at work all night and boredADD is lame fo gaming
Well, at least you're not in danger of being addicted to video games... plus I've always liked gaming for short periods of time, so your situation looks good to me. Of course, I don't have ADD, so I imagine it isn't as pretty as I think it is.ADD is lame fo gaming
I have it and I can't be patient enough to sit through a movie or play a game. I love it, I go out and live and just game when i feel the urge. Other things like skateboarding and acrobatics and running around don't really bother me so much.
It isn't the worse. I find myself playing video games for an hour, on the computer for an hour, watching tv for an hour, and then repeat. This is only if I don't have anything important to do.
You shouldn't feel too bad about it. For me I can only play for an hour or two and I feel like I have to stop. Mainly because the last thing I want to do it buy a game, play it for eight hours straight and beat it in two days. For example I bought ''Metroid Prime 3: Corruption'' but only played for 1-2 hour intervals mainly because my hand would get tired after a while (as the case with a lot of Wii games) but also because it was probably going to be the last game I get until Christmas. My husband hates when I buy games any time between October-December because he wants to get them for me so I have to make Metroid last until then.On the other hand, he bought Halo 3 and due to its short single player campaign, he beat it in a week, and we don't have XBL and now he's got nothing new to play until Christmas either. (He's waiting on Army of 2, Assasin's Creed and Guitar Hero III)So don't feel bad about not being able to play more than an hour or two because your making your experience last longer.
I want to play games for hours at a time but it is rather hard for me because I always have the feeling like I need to be doing something else.
I think that's normal. I often get anxious when I'm playing a game like Metroid Prime 3, where you need to find a save point and can't just quit whenever you want. I do have other things I need to do; gaming is just one of several hobbies to keep me sane. There's no real value in playing games for that long, anyway. As kbaily said, games will last much longer if you play them for shorter periods of time. And gaming isn't that great for your health.... The Wii makes it a little better since some games require you to stand or move while you play. I even stand while I play MP3, just because it makes me feel less lazy.I'd say your ADD is a good thing in this case.

I don't believe in ADD or ADHD. Regular people find it hard to play more than 3 hours nonstop too.

I don't believe in ADD or ADHD. Regular people find it hard to play more than 3 hours nonstop too.
Dude you don't have it so you can't comment about it. ADD ruined a good part of my life. I lost jobs contless of time because I couldn't concentrate and I made stupid errors all the time. I always got comments like: Your not fast enough, concentrate on your, work etc. So please don't say it doesn't exist. As your problem TC. Well a good way to get better and someday cure it. You have to first change your eating habbits. One of the big cause off ADD is artificial sugar (they put chemicals in it to make it white) and aritficial flavors. Cut the foods that have those ingredients in them. Cutting sugar is hard for you? Take some chromium, it will stabilize the sugar in your blood and will make the crave go away. Also replace the white sugar by natural sugars like honey, brown sugar (organic one), stevia (sugar that comes from plants), fructose (fruit sugar) etc. So stop taking cakes, pops and sutff like that. Trust me, you'll feel better and at the end you will not want take these things anymore. Second: Take natural supplements, Especially Omega 3 (DHA) and vitamin B. DHA will feed your brain with what it needs to perform better. Vitamin B will help you concentrate more. Why should you believe me. Well, I made researches for 2 or 3 years. I started taking this treatment and it helped a lot. I don't believe in meds as it's all chemicals and have big side effects.I know this is not really a video game topic, But I feell it's really important. More and more people are having ADD/HDAD because of the crap they and their parents ate. a good site to visit http://www.livingwithadd.com/EDIT: Here's a part of an artical from ADD.ORG AD/HD is a highly prevalent, worldwide disorder estimated to affect 5-10% of children
and 3-6% of adults1,2. As more and more is written and broadcast about AD/HD,
increasing numbers of adults and parents wonder whether AD/HD might be underlying
the problems they or their children are experiencing.
